Golf Lessons

I have been waiting for this day for the last 8 years!!! The time when Anthony ( and Zack) can pick up their clubs and go golfing with Michael!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!! Some of you know that 4 yrs ago I took golf lessons to try to understand the game enough to play a game, I loved the group of girls I was with, however I hated the lessons!! And I have yet to go to a golf course with Michael, and Now I don't have to. Anthony loves the game, and well Zack is Zack, what more can I say? Anthony has a great swing, and he loves the challenge. Michael is thrilled, he can't wait to take Anthony on the course.

Now for the other highlight of my life, our home :) it is looking great, I want to know what ya'll think of the color? I am horrible at choosing colors, and so I left that decision up to Michael, and he and Mandi, choose burgundy, with almond trim. I like it, it stands out from the rest of the homes thats for sure.

Okay, for all of you who might take notice, when you take a look at this pic, and compare it to the one I posted last week, you might say this is a different house. No it is not, the builders made a big whoops!! And nobody caught it, execpt for me of course. Now I am no builder, but I do know what I want in a kitchen, we specifically asked for a 18 inch pantry to be put in next to the sink cabinet, and when I was trying to imagine my pantry there, I couldn't because there was only 15 or so inches where it would be able to fit. So we called our realtor and she called the builder, who was like "no it is right, but he went out there and saw the mistake, so they had to fix it, which required alot, apparently, because of the back wall, is a main wall used to support the house. Any way it is all fixed and I am happy!
This is the future bedrooms downstairs, one will be Anthony's and the other will be Zachary's. Or they will share one and the other one will be a play room for them. My dream is not to have any toys upstairs. And no TV upstairs, either. Just a peaceful place for me to relax.

Home Sweet Home

Well here it is!! Amazing what 3 days can produce! Quite a difference from what I posted on Tuesday isn't it! It actually looks like a house. Isn't South Dakota Beautiful! Can you tell I am just a little bit excited about moving. Maybe I am just tired of the view from Texas, and I need a change!

I just love the view that is going to be from our backyard. I will be able to sit on the deck and just look out over the fields, Well that is until they build more houses! I can enjoy it for a little while though! This is looking into the Kitchen. I am so thrilled, if you look toward the hallway, and you can see they are putting arches entering the hallway. I can't wait, like I said now I am really getting into this whole house thing.
As for the rest of my life, the summer is actually moving rather quickly, this week especially. This boys are taking golf lessons, Anthony is loving it, and Zack, well he is being Zack, and just having fun! I will get some pictures of them golfing and post them next week. And as for the rest of the day, mainly just at the pool and hanging with friends, and that never gets boring!!
Anyway till next time!

UPDATE!!

Okay here it is for all of you who are dying to see the progress of the house, now I am actually getting excited!
It now almost looks like it might be a real house! As you can see the first one is taken from the side of the house, as you can see it is going to be a walk out basement! Doesn't it look small! I can't believe that it is going to be 2000 sq ft!
This one is looking directly at the front of the house from the cul-de-sac. The workers are in the garage, as you can see from the pic, there has been a lot of rain, I guess that almost every afternoon, there is a rainstorm, so I am not just procrastinating posting they really have had a hard time getting out there to work!
The roof is supposed to be on by Friday, our realtor of going out there on Friday, and will take more pics then. So ya'll might get 2 posts this week.
I can officially say that I am ready to move, I know that next year I will miss the warm days, and being able to go swimming, but right now it is like 80 degrees and that sounds so nice!! Though as always, I seem to make so many friends right before I move, the same thing happened in Abliene, and in Mt Home, it just makes things so much harder to move. The boys are also getting excited, they are ready, believe it or not, Anthony can't wait to be the 'new kid' in school, lets see if that lasts lol!
Anyway I will hopefully be able to post more by Friday night! Check back soon.

Summer Blues

Well sorry it has been a couple of weeks, you probably realize that NOTHING has been done on the house, I guess that Rapid City has been in a drought for several year, so they are so grateful for the rain. Seriously though, I am not as bad as Michael, he is going crazy not knowing what is going on exactly, our realtor is going to be sick of him soon. There should be pictures coming tomorrow, so I will be posting something either tomorrow, or Monday.

So far this summer has been super boring, I am going crazy, I so need a hobby! There is nothing out there that catches my interest for more that a few monthes, and I have tried so many things, sewing, scrapbooking, cooking ( I like that one, but my fam is sooooo against anything new), I have been learning the guitar, and I love that, but I only can practice for so long. So if there is anything out there that I really don't have to spend a lot of money on, please give me some ideas!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I have been going to the pool just about everyday, I have a pretty good tan now. And I have been reading all those Stephanie Meyers books, (who else out there wants Bella to just die?) Love the books but she is getting on my nerves, so I will just have to wait and see what book 4 brings.

Lets see the fourth was okay, Michael and I cleaned out the carport, and did some yard work in the morning, we then went to the pool ( I know big surprise!), and then we went to some friends for a bbq and to watch the fireworks. But when we sat down to watch the fireworks, there were some people who walked in front of us and stopped and stood, and totally blocked our view, I was pretty upset, it was such a short show, the boys didn't want some dummys standing right in front of there view!!! And like the good mom I am, I forgot to bring my camera, so there isn't any evidence of our outing. One day I will actually get it right! :)

Anyway I will post some recent pic of the boys building towers with paper cups, I guess we needed to get rid of them anyways!
Here is my wonderful Zack, peace out, while eating chips, soda and popcorn. I am such a good mom, just don't pay attention to the mess in the background.

and Anthony coming home from his first day at scout camp, I can't believe he is old enough for that!!!

Take care till next time:)

House update,

Okay, well unfortuatly if you want to see how the house is progressing, just look at last weeks pics. apparently it has still been rainy and wet, and so not much has been done. I didn't want to bore you with the same pics. Well they have put sealant one the concrete, and done some plumbing work, but that is about it. We have been able to choose the color of the house. It is going to be country red, also called burgundy. With clay colored trim. And we have chosen the carpet and the flooring. But that is going to change, I want Bamboo flooring, but that will add about 2200$ and Michael can do it for about 1000$, so we are going to wait and change it later! Otherwise our summer is going well, it is hot, but now we at least have a pool pass, and can go swimming everyday! I want to thank Becky, for the great book recommendation, Twillight, and New Moon and I will start Eclipse today. Also thank you to my supplier, Melanie thank you for letting me borrow the books!!!! I haven't been able to put them down since I picked them up!! I must have way to much time on my hands!

SUMMER IS HERE!

I know, one month!! Those last few weeks of school burned me out. Though I have to say I miss all the activities, I find mmyself twiddling my thumbs. Unfortunatly the whole purpose of us staying throught he summer, was the pool, and of course the pool has not even open yet. :Let me tell all of you military families out there, once your housing goes privitized, it is time to get out! They had the whole winter, and in Texas you really can't call what we have a real winter, to fix the pool. So we are stuck with the hundred degree temps and no pool!!
I also have realized that I haven't shared with all of you that we have bought a house!! We are going to be moving to South Dakota, and we are going to be there at least 5 years. So we have found a house, right off base, and no it isn't a manufactured home, they have started building a lot of newer homes just east of the School, and we are having a home built for us! It is less then a mile from the school and so we can walk to school. It is a huge house, with a huge lot! It is even at the end of a cul-de-sac. You know the checklist that you have, with everything you want in a house. We I would say that 99% of the list is checked off. These are some of the pics of what the house looks like now. It has a walk out basement, and 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, So there is going to be plenty of room for anyone that wants to visit! Okay no pics I can't figure out how to get them from my email to this blog. I will post those pics when Michael gets home and can show me how.

One week at a time!

Okay, just a short note, I have 16 more days of school left!! I am more excited than the kids are! I can't wait to sit in front of the pool, and just relax and sleep! Thanks for the book recommendations Becky!! I am always looking for a good summer read! We are looking forward to our move, it looks like we might decide to buy a house again, I don't know how I feel about that. The homes close to base are expensive and are only half finished! So even though it is a 2200 sq ft home only 1000 of it is finished! So 2 bedroom 1 bath, for 150,000. Anyway we will see what they say when we get up there. I would like to live in the newer homes, but they tell us it will be a year before we can get in them. So Boedee if you have any advice I would sure love to hear it :)
Well it is late and I have 2 lunchs and the dishes aren't going to wash themselves! I know it is Mother's Day, but what else can I do! I wish every mom out there a Happy Mother's Day!

Almost missed another week

I can't believe I forgot to wirite yesterday. It has been quite a week. Thursday morning their was a plane crash and a member of our ward was killed in the accident. As you can imagine it has affected our ward very hard. Yesterday we only had sacrament, and it was testimony, it was very touching. Brad will be missed very much, and my heart goes out to Jenn and the girls. It has really made me reflect on the person I am, and how I need to improve so much, we jsut never know when your time will come.
Although it was a very emotional sacrament meeting, I had a moment of I guess you would call it mother's pride. Anthony for the first time ever went up and bore his testimony. It was short and sweet, but I am so proud of him. If you know Anthony you would never expect that from him.
I am on official count down! Only 20 more days of school!!!!!! I told Michael that I will not work full time anytime soon. Actually I am planning on going back to school, and get that Bachelor's Degree. So that is what I am going to be up to when we get up to Rapid City. I hope that this week is quiet and calm. Have a great week.

Time Flies

Most of you probably are thinking that I just stayed in Utah. No we are home, and have been for a long time. I started writing last week but when I walked away the computer Zack attacked and started playing games and I lost the blog.
We had a blast in Utah, we hiked the Y, it has been a long time, and I forgot how steep it was. I was so worried about Zack having an asthma attack, it was dry and cold, optimal for an attack. I brought all the equipment, and medicine. But it was unnecessary. Quite the opposite in fact. He practically ran the whole way without a single cough!! On the other had, Anthony who never has any problems, coughed and wheezed most of the way up, not only that he walked slowly. So now I am thinking that when we do move, Zachary's asthma will be gone, but Anthony might develope it!! How funny. We also went to a dinosaur museum, there at Thanksgiving Point. It was awesome, I was totally impressed! I have never seen life size replicas of dinosaur, and it was cool. We visited friends, and Michael and I discovered IKEA!!!! We took two hours and we had to rush through the last 1/3 of the store! IT IS HUGE! They have childcare facilities, and a restaurant, it is like its own little city. Anyway Michael and I are planning on visiting family again in the fall before we leave for DisneyWorld, and we are bringing the truck. Okay so family is not the primary reason we are going to drive to Salt Lake, just so we can fly from there. So if you get a chance go visit IKEA.
We had a Easter egg hunt, since we had to be on the road on Easter, we hit two different hunts in the valley, one was giving away full size candy bars!! The boys had a blast.
And the best news of all is now my kids now what cousins are!!!! (Sad isn't it) we got to gramma's house and they have instant friends, and it was great!! Just what I remember when I was a kid.
Since Spring break it has been full speed ahead, school is winding down, but when I say that I mean that it is not slowing down but speeding up! I have never been so tired in my life!! Only 34 more days! I hate wishing away time like that but I have never wanted summer to come so quickly! Michael is taking 2 classes, after these two he will only have 2 classes left towards his Masters!! I never thought we would get this close. I don't know what it will be like when he does have that degree! Hopefully it will mean that we can make some changes. Michael wants to be a college professor, that would be good for him. He loves teaching, and is good at it. That is now the way we want to go.
The pics are of our vacation, the one of me is at the 4 corners, and then all the grandkids at Great Grandpa & Grandma Nielsen's home, They have a chair lift that takes them up and down their stairs, and we all took a trip on it. Michael and Zack being eaten by a megaladon. We also stopped and climbed the red rock, down by Moab, and stopped by the cars monument, in Amarillo. We had a blast. We really didn't want to come back to Texas.
I will try to be better at posting, once summer hits I will hopefully be better keeping up with the blog!
